Description

Marion Hood, June 10, 1951, in front of the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. According to her niece, Teresa Elvin of Augusta writing in 2009, "According to my mother Sandra Hood Barnard, Marion spent a lot of time at West Quoddy with her then boyfriend Bobby Gray; at that time his parents were the lighthouse keepers." Marion Hood Brown, known as "Aunt Mim," passed away in Dennyville, Maine, at the age of 70. Mrs. Elvin writes of frequent treks to West Quoddy Head, Lubec and the surrounding areas. "My most cherished memories of my childhood are our trips to visit our grandparents, Aunt Mim, and other family members who still lived in the area, and I have always been proud to be a descendent of such a special place."
Marion's sister Margie Hood Tinker adds that the family lived in North Lubec. Ralph and Phyllis Hood had five children, three of whom are deceased as of 2009.
