Description

Howard R. "Bobby" Gray Jr. graduating from Lubec High School 1951.

The bell in the background has been on exhibit at the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse since the early 19th century. Its provenance is unknown.

Bobby was the son of Howard Gray who was the Lighthouse Keeper at the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec from 1934 to 1952. After high school, while he was in the Coast Guard stationed at Southwest Harbor, he served as a relief keeper and spent time on lighthouses around that area.
